England Captain Ben Stokes Set To Make Comeback Pakistan Series

England's regular Test captain Ben Stokes is set to make an international comeback after suffering a hamstring injury during 'The Hundred 2024'.

The all-rounder then missed the two-match Test series against England, but has now given big positive signs about his fitness ahead of England's next Test assignment in Pakistan.

In an ECB video, Stokes mentioned that he is still in the early days of his rehabilitation period, and he wants to return as soon as possible.

He also said that he is staying with the England team during the Sri Lanka series because he wants to give himself the best chance of getting fit by staying close to the physios and doctors.

"I'm fully recovered, just slowly getting better. It's still very early days in the rehabilitation period... I want to get back as quickly as I can, so being here with the medical team with the physios and the doctors I felt would give me the best chance of getting back as quickly as possible."

Ben Stokes wants to return as an all-rounder

Ollie Pope, captain of the England team for the Sri Lanka series, has also expressed confidence in Stokes' return. He also said that his regular captain wants to return as an all-rounder, not just as a batsman.

"Obviously he's still a long way from playing, and he's not even trying to play as a batsman and first slip yet - yet anyway. But it's been great to watch him.

The second Test match between England and Sri Lanka is scheduled to begin at the iconic Lord's Stadium on August 29. The visitors had a good outing in the first Test match and will look to level the series at Lord's in the absence of Ben Stokes.
